Exhibition “Polígonos Cíclicos Conectivos”, (Collective Cyclical Polygons) by Beatriz Cunha. Apparently decontextualized work in a pattern of organic and unplanned growth. Defects are highlighted and imperfections are the product of execution, as foreseen from the initial idea.
Beatriz Cunha was born in Lisbon in 1959, and studied History at “Universidade Nova de Lisboa” (New Lisbon University) and Contemporary Jewellery at AR.CO (Centre of Arts and Visual Communication).
In the 90s, she began to approach sculpture, exploring techniques and materials, independently developing her artistic language. Her experimentation, fundamental in the conception of her works, leads to the creation of structures that demand discipline and technical precision. Her regard for art is that it is a continuous process and that visual expression is an integral part of life.
