From the Tropical Garden to Charcoal

25 Jul 2020

The twenty-eight drawings on display at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon, were made in two Lisbon residences at the Hangar Artistic Research Centre, in August, 2018 and June-July, 2019.

Produced in charcoal on cotton canvas, each measures approximately 150 x 80 cm. Some may also contain zinc oxide pigments mixed with an acrylic binder. The proportions refer to those of the human body. Suspended vertically on the walls of the exhibition space, they are presented inside a device of mirrors, in a face-to-face manner with the viewer.
