DAMMI I COLORI é a primeira exposição colectiva e institucional de artistas alemães em Portugal. Apresenta 11 artistas emergentes internacionais que vivem e trabalham em Berlim, um dos cenários artísticos mais vibrantes do mundo. O título da exposição é uma citação da ópera Tosca de Puccini, onde o pintor pede cores para pintar um retábulo da Madonna.Esta exposição explora a variedade de perspectivas sobre o uso da cor na arte contemporânea, desde a escultura, objeto, abstrato e figurativo em diferentes materiais, bem como em desenho e colagem.“Viver e trabalhar em Berlim” tornou-se uma espécie de selo de qualidade para um artista. Há exactamente 20 anos, Berlim foi considerada “pobre, mas sexy” pelo seu então presidente de câmara, atraindo artistas de todo o mundo. Nesta exposição podemos ter uma pequena visão da criatividade, produtividade e diversidade da capital alemã, que abriga cerca de 10.000 artistas visuais.A convite, e promovida pela Galeria NAVE de Lisboa, o curador Peter Ungeheuer de Berlim, encomendou 22 obras inéditas para uma exposição na Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, instituição com mais de 120 anos na divulgação e promoção das Artes em Lisboa. A meados de Novembro (durante a Lisbon Art Weekend 2023), será lançado o catálogo da exposição com o apoio da Embaixada da República Federal da Alemanha em Lisboa.

DAMMI I COLORI is the first institutional group exhibition of German artists in Portugal. It features 11 up-and-coming international artists living and working in Berlin, one of the world’s most vibrant art scenes. The title is a quote from Puccini’s opera Tosca, where the painter is asking for colors to paint a Madonna altarpiece.The exhibition is exploring the variety of perspectives on the use of color in contemporary art, in sculpture and objects, abstract and figurative on different materials as well as drawings and collages.To “live and work in Berlin“ has become a kind of seal of quality for an artist. Exactly 20 years ago, Berlin was branded as being “poor but sexy” by its mayor, attracting artists from all over the world. In this exhibition, we can get a small insight of the creativity, productivity and diversity of the German capital, which is home to nearly 10.000 visual artists.By invitation, and promoted by Galeria NAVE in Lisbon, curator Peter Ungeheuer from Berlin, commissioned 22 new works for an exhibition at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, an institution with more than 120 years of spreading and promotion of Arts in Lisbon. In mid-November (during the Lisbon Art Weekend 2023), the exhibition catalog will be released with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Lisbon.
